Cell group G 12

In our church we have a lot of different cell groups in different areas in and around Dublin.
The women meet together in a cell group and the men meet separately in another cell group. In a cell group you come together to praise and worship, pray together and get encouraged by the word of God. The cell is also a place where you can do something for God and grow in the things of God. You can share with others that what God has given to you.

I go to a cell group close to my house. It’s really on walking distance.
God is really working in our cell group. Most of the time you can really experience Gods presence. Glory to God! The other day we had a salvation during our meeting. What a joy! Afterwards, I was asked to pray for this lady (ofcourse supported in prayer by my sisters) and it was a really great experience because I could really feel Gods power working through me. I really felt the warmth of His Spirit, while I was praying for the Lord to touch her. And the lady said that she felt a funny feeling, which is a sign that the Lord really touched her. Glory to God! Hallelujah! I was so grateful to be used by God and really happy and excited that God is working in our midst.

There are also a lot of testimonies of what God has done through our prayers.
Like healing and so on. Hallelujah!
Really, nothing is impossible for God. The bible says :The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

New International Version :The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16

Our prayer is accompanied with power. God is still a hearer of prayers. And it’s His mercy that He’s confirming that to us. Prayer really changes things.

We lately started to take turns to lead the praise and worship in our cell.
I find it a great opportunity to practise and it’s something that I love to do.God is good! I love to bring people to the feet of the Lord. I love to bring Gods children in true worship so that the glory of God can come and we can enter into His presence.

Also, I was asked to do the teaching last week. That was really a challenge.
First I was wondering if I could really get it done. I’ve preached before but that was years ago and a teaching is also a little different.
But I felt that I needed to accept the opportunity and God really helped me and put some things in my heart to talk about and gave me the scriptures. Putting the teaching on paper was actually such a blessed experience. Glory to God! And doing it was as well. I still have to get used to doing teachings, but the ladies said that they were encouraged, so praises to God!
Anyway, the bible says that Gods word will not return void, so I can trust God that He has come to a purpose with the teaching. Glory to God !
I was asked to do the same teaching again one time. But I might post it on here as well.

Thank You Lord for using my sisters and I. Thank You for Your mercy. I’m looking forward to all that You’re still going to do in our midst.
We’re full of expectance Lord. Our eyes are upon You. Please keep on manifesting Your glory in our midst .Let our cell be a place where people will get saved, delivered, healed and where anything is possible in Jesus Name.

Priorities

Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not on thy own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

I guess everyone has to deal with priorities.
I, I find it hard sometimes to prioritise.
Because what is it that I find so much more important that it goes before something else? It really goes from what to spend money on to what to do on a certain day.
These are real issues for me because since I’m on maternity leave and hubby still doesn’t have an income, we don’t have so much to spend.
And having a young baby and another young child plus some other activities doesn’t leave me with seas of time either.
I’m actually someone who likes to plan things. I like to write down what I really have to do or want to do a certain day and sometimes I plan how to spend money as well.
But there have been days that I feel kind of nervous because I think: There’s so much that I have to do and I don’t know where to start.

So today I’m trying to prioritise.
I just put my eldest daughter at school and on the way home I was trying to plan the coming hours:

First I would see if my 4 month old baby needed me and then I would clean the living room. After that I’d call the Avon distributor who is supposed to visit me one of these days and then call the bank to apply for an increase on my overdraft.

Those were the things on my top list today.

So as I got in the house I heard the baby cry. She was lying next to her daddy but I really think that he was sleeping. I felt so sad for her. She was really a bit upset.
So I picked her up, cuddled her and apologised for not taking her with me. (My husband left the pram at a friends house because he picked up the kids by car after I dropped them of) and then let her drink. In the meanwhile I started to write this because it ‘s about the only useful thing that I can do while breastfeeding.
She just fell asleep and I put her in the bouncer chair.
So the next thing will be cleaning the living room and most of the time I do that while I’m praying and I lay my plans for today before God and ask Him to guide me and give me strength for the day.

Because the best thing that you can do is prioritise together with God, like the above scripture says. God sees and knows everything and He knows best.

We don't have to stress because the bible says in Isaiah 26:3

Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee; because He trusted in Thee.

Hallelujah , glory to His name !

I really need to seek God more in this, to make it my own every single day and every moment of the day.
Because christians really should be too blessed to be stressed, amen ?

But to go back to my plans for today so far: After I’ve made the calls I’ll probably clean up my room and then sit to think (and pray) of what else needs to be done.

Somewhere in the day I have to finish preparing the teaching for the cell group for today. I'm praying that God will really help me with this and speak through me this evening.

Well, I hope you’ll have a lovely day today.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and guide you in all that you do in Jesus’ name Amen.

We've moved

It’s done. We have moved. Our church has built a huge building because the old place was too small. And today we had the first service in the new place. Glory to God !
It’s a really beautiful venue. They’ve got a restaurant in front of it and the whole place ,stage and all looks very great . Today everyone from the worship team wore black. And with the stage being black and brown it really looked amazing.
I hope we sounded amazing as well.

Strange enough there didn’t seem to be that many empty chairs. There were way more people than I expected.
In the old building, we needed to have three services and now we had everyone in one big meeting. We’re expecting God to fill this place with new believers. Glory to God !
So after that we might have to go back to two services again. LOL

An advantage is, that it is now closer to where we live. Glory to God.
Luckily we won’t have those long rides like before. It was really sad when my baby girl was crying and I couldn’t do anything but let her cry. Even though lately I’m sitting next to her in the car to avoid that she’ll cry too much.

But today I had to go to the church earlier for rehearsal and hubby got both kids ready and drove them to church. He never dared to do that because of the long ride. And the baby didn’t cry at all.
We’ll also be saving on gas now. Praise God !
And I’m at home earlier after the rehearsals on Thursday.

We had a celebration today so there was lots of praise and we stayed on stage.
It was so nice, seeing all my family sitting in church. The eldest with her braids and in the new pink shirt and skirt that we bought her and the little one in her cute dress sitting on daddy’s lap, perfectly content. Glory to God.
God is good. Everything went well. Only when I took my baby girl from hubby after the service, she wanted to drink. So I fed her straight away.
I’m looking forward to what God is going to do in the new church.

Lord, thank You for the new building. Thank You for the new things that You are going to do. Turn our church into a place where people will be drawn to by miracles and wonders that You’ll be doing in our midst. Let it be a place where people find hope in You in Jesus name. Amen.

For people living in Dublin, this is the new address of our church.

Writing songs

Now and then the Lord has put a song in my heart. Until now I haven’t done much with the songs. It’s my desire to make more time for this and write more and hopefully get the chance to record some of my songs.

Most songs that I wrote are in Dutch though but one of them I’ve already translated in English. There was a song I liked that I just couldn’t remember how hard I tried and I was so sad about it and prayed to God that He would make me remember. And then one day all of a sudden I got the whole song back. Glory to God ! Really amazing.

Thanks Lord for giving me songs. Help me to do more with this to the honour of Your name. Amen.

My passion

One of the nicest things of being a Christian is to worship God.
I absolutely love worship.

The truth is every Christian is called to worship God. That is what we are made for.
We are made to know God, serve God and worship Him.

Worship comes naturally when you know God. Knowing God comes from entering in a relationship with Him. If you truly know Him, you can’t do anything else but worship Him.

Worship is appreciating God for Who He is.

I love to sing and by Gods grace He has blessed me with a singing talent.
But I love to use my voice to worship Him and sing with all my heart.
The joy that that brings is indescribable.

Worship brings you closer to God. It’s like entering into another dimension of His presence. The Holy Spirit takes over and starts to sing through you and all of a sudden your voice sounds more beautiful than ever because God is anointing your voice and the Holy Spirit is singing through you.

I’m so happy that God has put me back into this ministry.
By Gods grace I’m apart of the worship team/ choir from our church.
Even though I have a baby girl of almost 4 months now, God has given me the grace to continue to be apart of this ministry. I’m truly grateful for that.

I pray that God will continue to use me and take our team further in this ministry.

Lord, Your word says that You throne on the praises of Your people.
I pray that we will praise and worship You with all that we are and bring Your people at Your feet and You will come and visit us with your mighty presence.
And healing will flow, people will be delivered and salvations will follow.
Take us further Lord, let us see You.

Me

Getting to know God has been the best thing in my life. Now that I know Him, my life is complete. God has filled my life with so much joy.
I love to pray and be in His presence and I love to be used by Him. It gives me a lot of joy.

I desire to honour Him with my life and want to be used by Him. I want to help to build His kingdom.

Lord I pray that you help me to stay close to You, always. Help me to become the person that You want me to be. Help me to look more like You each day.
Let me bear fruit Lord and do that what You’ve called me to do.
Let me be a daughter after Your own heart and let all that I do glorify Your name in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Family Part 3 Mother and Wife

I’m so grateful to God that He blessed me to be a mother and wife.
God knows that both things have come with struggles now and then, but God has seen me through it all. Glory to God.
And I really must say that I feel truly blessed with my family. I’m grateful for the support they give me to be able to be in the ministry that the Lord has placed me in.

Lord please help me to be the best mother that I can be to both of my kids.
Help me to me a blessing to my husband.
Let like the bible says ‘on me his heart trust.’ And let me to ‘do him only good and no wrong’ in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Family part 2 Husband

It has always been my desire to marry a man of God. When I first met my husband I got to realise that he has a calling from God on his life.
Only, he has not been living in that calling and actually was a mediocre Christian for some time.

But God is merciful. He is doing something new in my family and has touched my husbands life as well. Glory to God!
Our marriage is better than before. We pray together and pray for each other and my husband joined the bible school from our church this week.
Glory to God ! He’s really more into God than before and this really makes me happy.

I’m so grateful to God for working in my family and am looking forward to what He is still going to do in our lives.

Lord I thank You for my husband. Thank You that You’re working in him and are helping him to become the man of God that You’ve called him to be.

Lord thank You that You are a hearer of prayers. Thank You for what You have done in my family’s life and what You are still going to do.
Help my husband and I to be an example to our children in everything we do in Jesus’ name.

Family Part 1 Kids

On the 1st birthday of my eldest daughter, she was dedicated to the Lord.
Her dad and I made a commitment that day to raise her in the fear of the Lord.

And when you’re a Christian you always have the desire to do the right thing and raise your children in the fear of the Lord and probably it’s constantly your prayer. So has it been mine.
Only I was wondering do I really do what I desire?
Do I raise my daughter in the fear of the Lord?
Do I even tell her about God and introduce her to Him?

From the day she was born, it was my hearts desire to bring her to Gods house and I’m happy to know that she really likes to go to church now.
God is becoming real to her. She asks questions about Him and comes home with stories about God. She also sings songs that she has learned in kids church but I was especially pleased when I heard her sing self made worship songs to the Lord. Glory to God ! She is only 4 (soon to be 5)

I know it is only grace and it is certain that it is not my doing.
All I did was take her to Gods house and try to be an example in serving the Lord.
And from time to time I taught her how to pray and how to stand in faith for instance for her hair loss problem. I told her to pray:’ Lord please let my hair grow back’ and to proclaim ‘my hair will grow back in Jesus name.’
And God in His faithfulness has heard our prayers. Glory to God!
She still has some bald spots on her scalps, but we’re trusting that He will complete the work that He has started in her.

I feel that I haven’t done enough though.
So lately, I’m reading bible stories with her and I’m praying with her and I talk to her about God. I’m planning to do more and more to teach her how to be a Christian.
Last year she said a salvation prayer when she was watching a Christian dvd. Hallelujah ! But she still has so much to learn and to really get to know Him.
.

I’m grateful though, that God has captured her little heart and am trusting Him that He will continue to work in her.
My prayer is that she will get to know Him more and more and serve Him with all of her heart even though she is still so young.
I believe that children too can have a personal relationship with God and God even uses children as well.

Lord, I pray that You reveal Yourself to my kids and keep them close to You.
Let them feel Your love even though they are still small.
Help them to hear Your voice and follow the path that You have chosen for them in Jesus’ name.

Welcome to my blog

I'm a mother of two lovely girls and am living in Ireland.
God has blessed us with a first daughter almost 5 years ago and again with a second gorgeous little baby girl almost 4 months ago.

I was born in the Netherlands but my parents are originally from Suriname, which is in South- America. (This used to be a Dutch colony and their main language is still Dutch) Two and a half years ago I moved to Ireland together with my husband and daughter.

I gave my heart to God as a child but really started serving Him about 18 years ago.
This blog will be about my life as a Christian.
About the hopes and dreams, the challenges, trials and joys that christian life brings.
It is my prayer that it will glorify God and encourage and bless every one who reads it.

Lord, use this blog to glorify Your name in Jesus' name
.
